Matt Honson, current NAILD Treasurer, attended the 2023 NAILD Convention on behalf of Thayer Energy Solutions. This year’s NAILD Convention featured a Keynote speaker, speed networking, educational sessions, round table discussions and an AT&T Stadium Tour. Educational sessions focused on horticulture lighting, tape lighting, acquisitions, hiring & retaining employees and much more.
At this year’s annual conference Honson learned that, surprisingly, around 35% of businesses in the U.S. have not converted to LED yet. Most large businesses are incentivized to lower their carbon footprint, and LED lighting is the easiest and most cost-effective way to do that. Also, published studies have shown that LED lighting is proven to:
- Increase standardized testing scores and attendance in schools
- Increase “dwell time” and sales in retail stores
- Increase security, as well as lower accidents, in areas that have good LED Lighting
“More energy efficient and affordable products are coming out all the time, it’s a great time to need to new lighting”, says Honson.
